My treatment methods

EMDR

I use EMDR to create opportunities for information that might have gotten stuck to begin to move forward. You will remember the material/memories, but they won't be as disturbing. Our sessions will focus on targeting these memories; and in addition, talk therapy in between sessions to process progress and other urgent life issues as they emerge.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is a skills based treatment where the end goal is to modify behavior you believe is problematic in your life; I'd do this by applying a combination of validation and problem-solving.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Are you looking back in the past at decisions you cannot change? Are you anxiously awaiting a future event, which may or may not happen? Mindfulness is an intentional practice which focuses on all that we have at any given point in time: the present. You’ll learn strategies that help you increase focus and concentration and reduce looking back or looking forward; that help you feel centered, grounded, calmed, and relaxed. Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction can be combined with any other methods of treatment I use or as a standalone practice.
