My therapeutic method combines cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) with a person-centered and solution-focused approach. Combining CBT, person-centered and solution focused therapy can create a comprehensive approach that addresses both the cognitive and emotional aspects of psychological distress while empowering clients to take an active role in their own healing process. I believe in adjusting my approach based on your individual needs. My Graduate Degrees: -Master of Science in Education in School Counseling (MSEd.) and Certificate of Advanced Study in Mental Health Counseling from Alfred University. -Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education from Hunter College. -Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the College of St. Rose.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is about establishing a connection, gathering information, and setting the stage for our work together. It's a collaborative process where your input and comfort are paramount.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths as a mental health therapist is my ability to empathize deeply with my clients. Empathy allows me to genuinely understand and connect with the thoughts, emotions, and experiences of those I work with. This helps me build a strong therapeutic alliance, which is crucial for effective therapy outcomes. Additionally, I am skilled in active listening and creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. I believe in validating and affirming my clients' experiences, which fosters trust and openness in our therapeutic relationship. Overall, my greatest strength as a mental health therapist is my ability to empathize deeply, actively listen, and provide a safe space where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions freely while receiving effective support and guidance.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have experience working with individuals of different backgrounds and ages. Overall, I have over 16 years of experience supporting individuals with different disabilities and social-emotional challenges. My experience ranges from being an Early childhood special education teacher and working with students and families to working with middle school students and families as a Guidance Counselor and servicing young adolescents and adults as a Mental Health therapist. It includes working with individuals to provide them with the tools necessary to succeed and cope with all the life changes and challenges. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a structured, present-focused psychotherapy that addresses the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CBT aims to empower individuals by teaching them to become aware of their thoughts and behaviors, providing them with tools to manage challenges effectively, and ultimately improving their emotional well-being and quality of life.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

The person-centered approach aims to empower clients by providing a supportive and empathetic environment where they can explore their feelings and experiences, gain insight into themselves, and ultimately move towards personal growth and self-fulfillment. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship as a key factor in facilitating positive change.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

The solution-focused approach is a goal-oriented therapeutic model that focuses on solutions rather than dwelling on problems.
