Hi! I’m a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with the State of Florida. I received my Masters from Stetson University in 1999. I have about five years experience in therapy and also worked in foster care for about five years. I have primarily worked with children but I'm looking forward to working with adults who are motivated to make improvements in their lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we’ll begin with introductions and then address the specific issues that bring you to therapy. We will then work on a plan to focus on ways to improve your life, relationships, mental health, and other areas you would like to discuss and improve. A treatment plan and goals will also be discussed and any questions about the process will be answered.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Most of my time as a therapist has been with children and teenagers but I have spent some time working with adults. However, I am willing to work with couples and families.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused treatment focuses on the positive solutions that work helping clients improve their situation very quickly. It helps clients focus on what works instead of assigning blame. It also helps them take control of their situation by encouraging them to come up with ways to improve it.

Motivational Interviewing

I've had some experience with this treatment method. It is useful to get clients to rate their situation, understand what they want it to be, and help them realize how to get there.

Couples Counseling

I've haven't really had any experience with couples counseling but I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have not had a private practice other than online therapy and I worked with an agency who only worked with children.

Family Therapy

I had some experience with family therapy when I worked with children but it was not looked at as family therapy and the parents/caregivers were usually not invested.
