Hi There–My name is Gina! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker currently providing telehealth services. I understand how terrifying it may be to start therapy and enter into a therapeutic relationship and I recognize the courage and vulnerability it takes to make this step. I want to meet you where you are, not where you or anyone else thinks you “should” be. I make every effort to create a safe and comfortable space that makes you feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood. Your story, your pain, and your collection of struggles are unique to you, which is why I believe each individual requires an approach specific to their specific needs and goals. Instead of telling you what to do, I will help you find your authentic voice. Together we will discover ways for you to address your concerns, working to help you live a more satisfying, meaningful life – whatever that may look like for you. I currently work at an outpatient mental health and addiction center as an individual therapist for adults, teens, and children who struggle with various mental health issues. I have extensive experience in the areas of depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, and eating disorders. An unknown author wrote a favorite quote of mine that states, “Bad chapters can still create a story that ends well. Let your past be part of your story, not your identity.” I hope to work alongside you as you create a new story that allows you to reach your full potential. I look forward to meeting and working with you!
My role as a therapist is to walk alongside you as you are empowered to make choices that align with your values, goals, and beliefs. I believe that the best therapy holds up a mirror to help us see what we could not see on our own. These moments of understanding are the building blocks of change. My goal as a therapist is to help create an awareness of patterns that are holding you back and find ways of moving forward. My core value of therapy is helping others be the best versions of themselves and together, I feel confident we can help you reconnect with your true self and what motivates you to get up each morning.
In my clinical practice, I work collaboratively with each individual out of a strengths-based and solution-focused model. I incorporate a variety of techniques and skills drawn from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative therapy and use an eclectic approach to meet each individual's specific needs in a way that makes sense to you.
I have been privileged to work with clients from 3 years old to 65 years old. Each chapter in our lives comes with unique challenges and rewards. My biggest strength is my ability to listen without judgment as I educate, reframe and validate my clients to provide them with a sense of empowerment.
I am focused on working with individuals of all ages who struggle with anxiety, depression, addiction, grief and loss, trauma, obsessions and compulsions, anger and stress management, domestic violence, eating disorders, self-image/self-esteem issues, and self-harming behaviors
