Hello and welcome. My name is Marla Jones. Are you struggling with people who are important to you in your life? Your spouse, your children, co-workers, and others? Do you lack a meaningful connection with yourself and others? Or desire for deeper, more satisfying relationships? I help individuals and couples who are experiencing relationship issues, depression, anxiety, grief, family dysfunction and violence. I am a trauma-informed helper, with a specialization in relationship dynamics, specifically, the perpetration and victimization of Intimate Partner Violence and Domestic Abuse. It is my goal to provide people with the lasting tools to navigate the relationships we need to be successful in our own lives. I use a variety of methods that are person-centered, collaborative, and personalized to the presenting concern. These methods are deprived of Cognitive Behavioral and Realty Therapies. These methods include self-awareness and evaluation, mindfulness, perception reframing, and planning for and executing new helping behaviors. My clients are given the unique opportunity to become an active participant in their personal growth and well-being. I believe that when people began to take their power back through personal accountability, responsibility, and empowerment; healing and transformation will soon follow. I look forward to growing with you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will explore what has brought you into counseling and what you would like to achieve during our time together. We will look at variety of factors including, but not limited to, background, family history, mental health, etc. We will determine what you want and figure out how to get you there!

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

The main method I use for evaluating current thoughts and behaviors and planning for new healthy thoughts and behaviors is the WDEP system. This system involves determining what the client wants in their quality world and then examining what they are doing or what they can be doing to reach their quality world. I also use self-awareness and perception techniques that allow clients the opportunity to understand themselves and others in a way that builds empathy, compassion, and collaboration.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is helping folks sort things out in such a way that they are empowered to take control of their lives with confidence, accountability, and wisdom.
