Life doesn't always go according to plan which can be difficult to cope with at times. That's where I come in. My name is Kelsey Grass and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 8 years of experience. I have experience helping clients work through a variety of concerns, such as anxiety, depression, stress and life transitions. My goal as a therapist is to walk next to you in your current experience. You are the expert of your life and that remains so in our sessions. Rather than telling you what to do, we work together to help you find the solutions you are looking for. Along the way, I will provide you with the knowledge, insight and skills to help you improve the quality of your life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session together, we will take time to fully understand the unique challenges you are experiencing and what you hope to get out of therapy. I will also explain what you can expect from therapy and answer any questions you may have about the therapy process.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I became a therapist because I love helping others and truly believe that everyone deserves to experience joy regardless of their circumstances. This passion coupled with my 8 years of experience has provided me with the techniques and skills needed to help my clients find the relief they are looking for. In addition to the techniques I use in session, I pride myself on meeting clients where they are at and providing them with a nonjudgmental space where they feel safe exploring their concerns.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with clients for the past seven years. We will work together to alleviate your symptoms by looking at your current thinking patterns and how they are impacting your feelings and behaviors. Then we will work to challenge these patterns and replace them with more desirable ones. Many clients that I have worked with using CBT have reported a reduction in anxiety, depression and overall stress.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I have been using person centered therapy for over seven years in my practice. My goal as your therapist is to provide you with a nonjudgmental, empathetic environment that makes you feel heard, validated and supported. Many of my clients reported that having this unconditional support is a key piece to working through their concerns and discovering their own solutions.

Psychoeducation

I have been using psychoeducation with clients for seven years. Regardless of what you are going through, the first step is to understand what you are experiencing. I provide clients with the knowledge, resources and tools they need to feel validated, gain insight and better manage what they are going through.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I have been using mindfulness based therapy with my clients for seven years. When we are experiencing difficult emotions or situations, it is easy to get stuck in our heads. I use mindfulness techniques to help clients stay in the present moment and respond to stressors in less reactive ways. My goal is to help you build your toolbox so that you have a variety of skills you can use in your daily life. Many clients I've worked with have reduced their anxiety and overall stress by using these techniques.

Somatic

I have been using somatic therapy within my practice for two years. By looking at the mind-body connection, we can help you release stuck emotions in your body, regulate your nervous system and build resilience.
