Hello! I’m Kelsey, a licensed professional counselor dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, stuck or simply seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I’m here to offer a safe, supportive space where you can explore, heal and grow. With over ten years of experience, I offer a warm, down-to-earth therapeutic style that is rooted in empathy, curiosity and respect. My goal is to create a space where you feel supported, seen and encouraged every step of the way. We’ll work together to explore what’s going on, make sense of it, and find tools and perspectives that help you move forward in a way that feels right for you. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do this alone. If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.
Clients can expect to have a nonjudgmental space to openly talk about and work through their experience. They can also expect to receive education about their concerns along with skills to better manage what they are going through.
I became a therapist because I love helping others and truly believe that everyone deserves to experience joy regardless of their circumstances. This passion coupled with my 8 years of experience has provided me with the techniques and skills needed to help my clients find the relief they are looking for. In addition to the techniques I use in session, I pride myself on meeting clients where they are at and providing them with a nonjudgmental space where they feel safe exploring their concerns.
I am passionate about working with adults who are experiencing stress in their lives that is getting in the way of them living the life they want to. This oftentimes looks like clients feeling anxious, depressed, stuck or overwhelmed. I love working with pregnant women, new moms and moms at any stage of motherhood. I also specialize in working with individuals who have been diagnosed with celiac disease.
I have been utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with clients for the past seven years. We will work together to alleviate your symptoms by looking at your current thinking patterns and how they are impacting your feelings and behaviors. Then we will work to challenge these patterns and replace them with more desirable ones. Many clients that I have worked with using CBT have reported a reduction in anxiety, depression and overall stress.
I have been using person centered therapy for over seven years in my practice. My goal as your therapist is to provide you with a nonjudgmental, empathetic environment that makes you feel heard, validated and supported. Many of my clients reported that having this unconditional support is a key piece to working through their concerns and discovering their own solutions.
I have been using psychoeducation with clients for seven years. Regardless of what you are going through, the first step is to understand what you are experiencing. I provide clients with the knowledge, resources and tools they need to feel validated, gain insight and better manage what they are going through.
I have been using mindfulness based therapy with my clients for seven years. When we are experiencing difficult emotions or situations, it is easy to get stuck in our heads. I use mindfulness techniques to help clients stay in the present moment and respond to stressors in less reactive ways. My goal is to help you build your toolbox so that you have a variety of skills you can use in your daily life. Many clients I've worked with have reduced their anxiety and overall stress by using these techniques.
I have been using somatic therapy within my practice for two years. By looking at the mind-body connection, we can help you release stuck emotions in your body, regulate your nervous system and build resilience.
