I am a bilingual and first generation Honduran American Marriage and Family Therapist who is based in California, born and raised in Los Angeles area. I received my masters at Pepperdine University and have been practicing therapy for the past 5 years. Over the past couple of years I have been working with young and older adults dealing with depression, anxiety and past traumas such as sexual, physical and emotional abuse.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together we will explore symptoms and current stressors that bring you into therapy to help formulate treatment goals. We will work collaboratively to address symptoms and increase healthier coping skills.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a Latina therapist working with clients over the past 5 years, one of my main focuses is creating an empathetic, safe and non-judgemental environment for each client. I strive to help clients reach their fullest potential through identifying core beliefs that negatively impact clients, increase healthier coping skills and explore each client's unique experience to address symptoms.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a therapist I have been able to implement CBT with individuals that have dealt with childhood trauma, depression, and anxiety. Clients have been able to restructure and reframe negative/self defeating thoughts of self and increase positive core beliefs of their identity and outlook on life.

EMDR

As a trained EMDR therapist I have been able to implement EMDR with clients that deal with depression, childhood trauma, sexual abuse and anxiety. Clients have been able to increase verbalization of strengths, view of selves and positive outlook on their future.

Couples Counseling

As a therapist in couples therapy I help couples address communication issues and implement healthier boundaries. Through couples counseling, clients have been able to increase view of self as individuals and increase healthier awareness of each other needs and expectations.

Humanistic

As a therapist I have been able to implement a humanistic approach into therapy, in which the client is able to reach their fullest potential through empathy, unconditional positive regard and active listening about client's life experiences.
