Welcome! Have you been feeling persistently sad, anxious, or overwhelmed? Are you experiencing difficulties in your relationships with family, friends, or romantic partners? Perhaps you are struggling with a negative self-image, questioning aspects of your identity, or going through a period of self-discovery. Do you feel a general sense of dissatisfaction and want to explore ways to lead a more fulfilling life? My goal is not only to alleviate immediate distress but to empower you with the tools needed for long-term emotional resilience by fostering a journey of self-love and acceptance. I am a licensed clinical social worker based in Georgia. With an educational background including a B.S. in psychology from the University of Georgia, an M.S. in developmental psychology from Clayton State University, and an MSW from Valdosta State University, I bring a holistic approach to therapy. For more than 10 years, I have been dedicated to supporting individuals facing crisis, hospitalization, and trauma. I am deeply committed to fostering self-love and empowerment while creating a safe and non-judgmental space that allows clients to openly explore their thoughts and emotions and gain a deeper understanding of themselves. In navigating the complexities of anxiety, depression, fragile self-esteem, and other challenges, I believe in nurturing a positive self-image and promoting a resilient mindset. Here, you will find a therapeutic space where healing unfolds and personal growth takes root. We will identify and build upon your strengths to cultivate a sense of confidence and balance. If you are ready to embark on this path, I am here to support you on your journey towards a more fulfilling and empowered life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session together, we will begin with brief introductions followed by a thorough psychosocial assessment. The purpose is to gather information about various aspects of your life, including your mental health history, emotional well-being, interpersonal relationships, family dynamics, living situation, educational and employment history, and any relevant environmental or cultural factors that will inform an individualized treatment plan for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked extensively with patients in crisis in the emergency department, I understand the urgency and sensitivity required to navigate moments of acute distress. My work with survivors of sexual assault reflects my commitment to trauma-informed care; and in community settings, I have actively addressed the intersectionality of mental health, housing instability, and food insecurity. These diverse experiences have honed my ability to quickly and effectively connect and establish trust with individuals from various backgrounds. Whether supporting individuals in crisis, survivors of trauma, or those facing socio-economic hardships, my goal is to instill hope, resilience, and a sense of self-love.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Having worked extensively with patients in crisis in the emergency room setting and those admitted to the hospital for longer term treatment, I understand the urgency and sensitivity required to navigate, both, moments of acute distress as well as more persistent emotional distress. Through CBT, we will work together to identify and challenge negative thought patterns and beliefs that may be contributing to your difficulties. By exploring the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, we will develop practical strategies to help you cope more effectively with challenging situations and work collaboratively towards sustainable solutions. Through structured exercises and "homework assignments," you will learn new skills and techniques to manage stress, anxiety, and other issues.

Trauma Informed Care

My work with survivors of sexual assault reflects my commitment to trauma-informed care. I approach each individual with sensitivity and respect, facilitating a therapeutic environment where clients who have experienced trauma can regain agency over their narratives and begin their path to healing. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel validated and empowered to explore their experiences without judgment. I will assist you in understanding the effects of trauma on the brain, behavior, and relationships. I will use techniques such as fostering a sense of safety and trust, practicing mindfulness and grounding exercises, and promoting empowerment and choice in the therapeutic process as you set out on your journey to healing and recovery.
