I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) based in Delaware. I received my Master of Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Miami, and my PMHNP certification from Wilmington University. I have over a decade of experience working as a practitioner, with more than four years working in addiction settings. I assist clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, and various forms of addiction. I help clients in managing their mental health conditions and learn new ways of coping with life stressors.
Our first session will involve gathering a comprehensive history and understanding of your specific life challenges. During this meeting, we will also address your personal goals and create a treatment plan for follow-up sessions.
With experience in various settings such as primary care, correctional medicine, geriatric, and addiction medicine, I have a deep understanding of the complexities of mental health disorders. I understand how mental health disorders can affect people's lives and provide an accepting and nonjudgmental environment for all my clients. I recognize the impact that medical and life challenges can have on a person's well-being and tailor treatment plans to meet each individual's needs
I enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences, including a broad range of ages, ethnicities, genders, and sexual orientations. Though my clients come from diverse backgrounds, they all share the same goals of improving their mental health, strengthening interpersonal relationships, and increasing their overall wellness
Motivational interviewing (MI) is a form of therapy designed to support and empower patients as they plan for change. In practice, I understand that change is a person-centered process and people present at different phases in their lives. With incorporating MI, I work closely with patients to examine what they desire to improve upon and provide support during the process. By providing a safe and nonjudgemental environment, I assist patients as they take control of their lives and make positive changes in their behaviors
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is based on understanding human thought processes and behaviors. In practice, I work with patients to help them recognize negative thought patterns and behaviors. Once these patterns are identified, we develop and apply strategies to change these negative patterns to improve their overall well-being and outlook on life
