New to Grow
Hi, I’m Jennifer Bobadilla, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. As a second-generation Asian American, I understand the nuances of cultural identity, generational dynamics, and the unique challenges many families face. I work with children, parents, families, and individual adults to help them navigate life’s ups and downs, strengthen connections, and build confidence in managing emotions and relationships. I am deeply passionate about supporting growth and healing, and my approach is warm, empathic, and collaborative. With over a decade of experience across children’s non-profits, adolescent residential treatment centers, community agencies, and private practice, I show up authentically in session, creating a safe and caring space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes that bring more balance, connection, and well-being into their lives.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, my focus is on truly listening and creating a space where you feel safe, seen, and understood. I work to build trust and rapport from the very beginning, making sure therapy feels like your space—where your thoughts, feelings, and goals come first. We’ll talk about what brings you here, what matters most to you, and what you hope to get out of our work together. My goal is to support you in a way that feels meaningful and empowering, so we can start exploring the changes you want to see in your life. Therapy is truly meant to be YOUR space.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I bring extensive experience working with children, families, and adults, understanding the complexities of relationships and the ways trauma can affect all of us. With advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, and child-centered approaches, I tailor strategies to meet each client’s unique needs. I approach therapy with warmth, compassion, and curiosity, creating a space where you feel safe bringing what often feels “too hard” to face. I am connection-driven and attuned, following your lead and leaning on your insight to support what you truly need. My goal is to help you feel seen, understood, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges and create meaningful, lasting change.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is someone who doesn’t want to face life’s challenges alone and is ready to be truly seen and held in their emotions. You may feel stuck or wish things could be different, whether in your relationships, your confidence, or your day-to-day life. You’re seeking connection, understanding, and growth, and you’re open to exploring a safe, supportive space where you can process, heal, and take meaningful steps toward feeling more empowered, balanced, and whole.
Attachment-based
I use an attachment-based approach to help clients understand how early relationships shape emotions and behaviors. With parents and children, I focus on strengthening bonds and fostering attunement, while with individual adults, I explore relational patterns and support building secure, healthy connections.
Compassion Focused
I use a compassion-focused approach to help clients respond to themselves with warmth and kindness. With children and parents, we practice soothing skills and supportive interactions, while with individual adults, I help cultivate self-compassion, reduce shame, and build emotional resilience.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I take a culturally sensitive approach that honors each family’s values and experiences. As a second-generation Asian American, I’m mindful of the nuances in immigrant and bicultural families. With children and parents, I support exploring these dynamics in relationships, and with individual adults, I help navigate cultural identity, belonging, and self-understanding.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I use a person-centered approach grounded in empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. I focus on creating a safe, accepting space where each person feels truly heard and understood, supporting families in strengthening connection and emotional awareness. I also work with individual adults, helping them explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace, build self-understanding, and tap into their inner capacity for growth and resilience.
Supportive
use a supportive approach to help clients feel understood, validated, and encouraged. With children and parents, I focus on strengthening relationships, building confidence, and navigating challenges together. With individual adults, I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore feelings, reinforce coping skills, and foster resilience and self-understanding.
