Hi, I am a licensed clinical social worker. I received my Masters in Social work from Columbia University on the advanced clinical track with a specialty in health, mental health and disabilities. I have many years experience providing trauma informed care. My approach to therapy is collaborative, client-centered, and empathetic. I have extensive experience with using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I think that it is important that one be mindful of the power of their thoughts. I do not believe that therapy is giving advice but rather I will provide a non-judgmental space to explore and determine the best way to help you.
In our first session I will work to get to know you and explore what brought you to therapy by asking questions which will assist us in deciding the most appropriate ways to help you reach your goals.
My greatest strength as a provider is my skillset in active listening, I place great importance on paying close attention to what my clients are sharing and I want them to feel heard and understood.
I specialize in treating people who have experienced trauma and individuals dealing with anxiety and/or depression. I also work with expecting and new mothers and I have a certificate in Perinatal Mental Health.
I originally learned aspects of CBT in graduate school and have been using CBT since receiving my masters in 2013
I have received intensive training in DBT and have been using DBT for many years in my practice
I have received training in CPT and have been using it in my practice for a number of years to treat trauma in adults
