Hello! I am Kaylah, an LCSW out of Texas with 5 years of experience working with youth, individuals, and families. I help individuals and families improve overall functioning, as well as coping with social and emotional challenges. I am a nerd when it comes to emotions and love finding ways to help people process them effectively. Ideally I want you and/or your family to build confidence in handling the ups and downs of life and address the things that might be hindering your goals!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, I will collect any pertinent background information about you, and if time permits we will dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am caring, non-judgmental, and here to be apart of your journey. I want to be your cheerleader and coach to make your goals a reality. I understand deeply the difficulty mental health and emotional distress can have on an individual day to day. I want to meet you and/or your family where you are at to help find a path to improved outcomes. I believe we are all capable of change, but I also know it can be incredibly challenging and we can often feel lost in the process. My training and outside perspective can help us find a clear route together to improve your symptoms, and meet your desired outcomes for change.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I am well versed in Attachment Theory and integrate it into my practice when necessary to explore interpersonal dynamics, triggers, and processing circumstances to help my clients build awareness of their personal attachment system and improve coping strategies.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use the CBT model to aid others in building skills to cope with their thoughts/emotions/actions, providing improved sense of agency over their life to decrease the symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Trauma Informed Care

I have assisted many people in many different walks of life impacted by trauma and can recognize the symptoms and implications of trauma when working with clients trying to achieve their goals. The recognition, understanding, and effects of trauma are always considered in the integration of my treatment with clients.

Integrative

When treating clients, I bring an integrative person centered approach to their therapy, based on their strengths and desired outcomes using various models and frameworks to optimally address the symptoms, helping create tools the client can use in daily life, and facilitate a client-therapist relationship that promotes healing.
