**All Potential New Clients Must Have a Telephone Consultation Before Scheduling** Hello, my name is Regina Speights and I am a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner. If you are tired of making poor decisions or are ready for growth and want to know if medication will help, contact me. I utilize motivational interviewing with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you know and understand if you're ready to make changes. I specialize in Addiction, Anxiety, Depression, Medical Weight Loss, and Grief. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and multiple screening evidence-based screening tools to diagnose. It will take 2-3 visits for a diagnosis because many factors must be explored. I do not diagnose on one visit. I realized medical and mental health should be treated simultaneously, so I pursued and completed a Doctor of Nursing Practice – Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner where my research focused on motivational interviewing, PTSD, and drug use in homeless women. My training and experience span metropolitan areas in various states. My passion leads me to serve persons with chronic addiction, veterans, and persons experiencing homelessness. In my free time, I garden, bake, and continue to serve persons with chronic homelessness. My favorite quote is “Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fall” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

It is imperative that I both listen to, and hear you. During the first session, you do the majority of the talking while I listen to ensure I understand your family and relationship dynamics.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

My approach to care utilizes motivational interviewing and Phil Barker’s “Tidal Theory.” Phil Barker’s “Ten Commandments” focus on the client being in charge rather than fully on medication or my giving directions. The client drives the conversation, and plan of care, and decides when they are ready to change. My goal is to listen, help you navigate your “journey of life”, and provide you the support and resources to move along your plan.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I listen with no bias and establish a relationship of trust and non-judgment. I want you to feel comfortable expressing yourself so we can get to the "crux" of the issues to help you heal and be productive.
