Hi, my name is Kyri and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker ( LCSW) in the State of New Jersey. I have been a social worker for over 20 years, and have worked with many adults and older adults in a variety of healthcare settings. I received MSW from New York University and have experience working with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, and grief/loss. I am eager to help you in your wellness journey and we will work collaboratively to help you overcome your struggles and develop healthy coping mechanisms. I take a person-centered approach to meet all my clients where they are at. I often incorporate CBT and Mindfulness into treatment sessions, but will incorporate other treatment modalities as appropriate.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I will get to know more about you. We will discuss background information, and talk about your concerns and challenges, as well as anything that is important to you. We will also talk about your past experience with therapy ( if applicable). We will review your intake questionnaire and mental health screenings. If you prefer to wait and complrte this together at our first session, just let me know. We will discuss any personal goals you may have, and then create a plan to work on together. Most importantly, this is a time to get comfortable with each other and allow you to ask any questions you may have.

I am a dedicated professional and pride myself on being a good listener. My goal is always to make every person feel comfortable, safe, and supported in a trusting environment. I am passionate about helping others and we will work together to develop an individualized plan so that you can take the steps needed to feel better. I want you to know you're not alone, and I will be here to help you identify your strengths and develop coping mechanisms.

When a client is feeling depressed and anxious, it is very common to develop negative patterns of thinking. It is important to understand how your thoughts affect your actions, in order to then identify and implement coping mechanisms. I assist my clients in setting realistic and attainable goals so that small steps can lead to bog changes.
