"If you problem is like a mountain, I can't carry you up it. But I can walk with you every step of the journey." Hi, I’m Dan. I’m a licensed psychotherapist with experience working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. I have also worked as a school counselor and as a behavior therapist for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I focus on issues such as anxiety, depression, adolescents/teens, behavioral issues, stress, coping skills, life transitions, mood disorders, relationship issues, school issues, self esteem, self-harm, spirituality, trauma and thought disorders. I believe in making therapy as easy as possible and creating a therapeutic environment in which my clients feel comfortable; sessions with my clients are always a safe space. I believe in meeting clients where they are at; your goals for therapy are my goals. Whether you're dealing with severe trauma, anxiety, depression or whatever life throws at you, I am here to help.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will review presenting problem and challenges you have been facing. We will collaborate together on treatment goals that you feel are relevant and appropriate to what challenges you may be experiencing. I also like to leave some time to discuss any further questions you may have for me or my experience as a therapist. I feel like this helps build rapport and make the environment feels safe and inclusive.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I take a very eclectic approach to psychotherapy by combining different theories to what best fits the client's needs. combine techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, play therapy, and psychodynamic theory with a person-centered orientation. I am also trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and have utilized it in children and adolescents.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel my biggest strengths are my ability to build rapport, empathize with clients, and create a warm and welcoming space. I understand how difficult it can be to go to therapy so I wish for the client to be as comfortable as possible. I believe that these strengths combined with my therapeutic skills are conducive for creating a positive therapeutic experience for myself and for clients.
