LPCC, 30 years of experience
My name is Beth Pilous-Smith (Licensed in OHIO and FLORIDA). As a therapist, I am deeply passionate about helping people feel empowered and supported as they work toward their goals. Whether you are hoping to repair and resolve conflicts, reduce distress and emotional pain, solve challenges, or simply enhance your overall well-being, I will walk alongside you with care and compassion. My goal is to create a safe, calming space where you feel heard, understood, and valued. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with clients facing a wide variety of challenges/ My experience includes helping individuals and families navigate trauma, adoption, education needs, attachment issues, divorce, parenting concerns, and mood disorders. I also want you to know that I am affirming and supportive of those in kink, polyamorous, nonmonogamous, and BDSM communities, and I welcome you as you are. With more than 30 years of experience working in mental health in clinical, school, and community settings. I enjoy working with people of all ages stages of life. I would be honored to meet you and support you on your journey!
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I believe my biggest strength is creating an environment where clients feel heard in a comfortable and genuine atmosphere.
I enjoy working with clients in a variety of areas and age ranges, and I will work to meet you where you are with your concerns. I have also worked in the areas of adoption, educational problems, and trauma. I am kink, BDSM, and polyamorous friendly.
I value that my clients are unique and therefore, their therapy needs are unique. My therapy approach draws the most relevant techniques from various evidence-based therapy modalities together for an effective and individualized treatment plan.
I believe that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) highlights the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to identify negative thought patterns and develop coping strategies, leading to improved mood and functioning.
