Thank you! We are a whole world. Therapy is about mapping out, traveling to, and learning from all of the places we have inside of us. We can choose the places we call home, the places we visit sometimes, and the places we bring closure to as time goes on. My job as a therapist is to help you explore how your life experiences, influential relationships, and core beliefs continue to play a part in your everyday life. I’ve found that if we can work together to visit uncomfortable places long enough to find calm and to start to look around, we’ll see that every life event has important insight to keep present as we live out new experiences. I work with children, teens, and adults as they go through times of struggle, growth, and restoration by offering evidence-based resources and a Christ-centered approach to those who wish to incorporate their faith in their counseling journey. Qualifications: I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Texas and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida. I was able to earn my Master’s degree in 2008 from Palm Beach Atlantic, a Christian University which offered a specialization in Biblical foundations for Counseling work, and in 2013, I also completed my Doctor of Education degree from Argosy University, which gave me the opportunity to focus on child development as an area of study.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will talk about the major areas you would like us to focus on and I will provide a framework of my therapy approach to help you decide if working together would be a good fit for you.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I use an integrative approach to therapy. Based on each individual client's needs, I incorporate methods and techniques from various approaches including: Art Therapy Attachment-based Christian Counseling Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) Culturally Sensitive Emotionally Focused Expressive Arts Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Multicultural Narrative Person-Centered Play Therapy Solution Focused Brief (SFBT) Strength-Based and Trauma Focused therapies.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am especially focused on trauma work which I believe is an area of vital importance and of great need, especially now as families are facing new challenges across so many different areas of daily life. I've had wonderful experiences working in group and private practice, the school setting, in early childhood developmental centers, and in community-based grief and loss group programs for children coping with the death of a primary caregiver.
