About me

Hello, and welcome! First, let's acknowledge that taking the first step toward bettering your mental health is both empowering and courageous! I know initiating the process can feel intimidating, but it’s also the start of a transformative journey. While I may be new to Grow, I'm certainly not new to providing therapeutic care. With over 11 years of experience as a clinical social worker, I have helped countless individuals and families from various walks of life over the years. In my private practice, Therapy with Krystal, I focus on supporting millennial women as they navigate tough life transitions, and as they're ready to begin healing from complex trauma. While I prioritize women of color (WOC), I'm open to working with all allied races and genders. Through a holistic approach, I aim to create a safe space where you can cultivate a deeper connection with yourself. Together, we’ll foster growth, healing, and meaningful change by approaching your story with curiosity, compassion, and positive regard. I invite you to show up as your imperfect, unfiltered self—so that, over time, you feel safe expressing your true self in every area of your life. You're the expert on your own journey. My role is to walk alongside you, offering insight, support, and encouragement as you move forward. My goal is to help you establish more balance, peace, and fulfillment in your life- whatever that may look like for you. If you're feeling called to work me, I encourage you to book a session to determine if we would be a good fit.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Durning our first session, I'll address some admin stuff like limits and exceptions to confidentiality, Telehealth limitations and risk, scheduling and attendance policy. We'll then take time to get to know one another a little better. I'll answer any questions you may have, and together we will determine if we're a good fit. In the event that we decide not to move forward with working together, I will refer you to another Grow provider who might be better suited for your needs. If we do decide to move forward, we'll take time to explore the challenges you’re facing and collaborate on a plan for moving forward in a way that leaves you feeling empowered. You'll leave the session with greater clarity, along with manageable action steps to work on before our next meeting. Throughout our work together, there will always be opportunities for feedback and adjustments, ensuring that our approach continues to support your progress.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Many of today’s therapeutic approaches are rigid and quick to put people in a box, leading so many to feel unseen, frustrated and, sometimes, worse than before they came to therapy. To me, you’re not just another client. I see you as the unique individual you are. You don’t have to worry about me slapping labels on you, or overwhelming you with a bunch of clinical jargon. You won’t find an uptight atmosphere here. Instead, our sessions feel like a chat with a trusted confidant who genuinely understands, and is equipped to guide you through your inner world. Sessions with me are relaxed and judgment-free. I show up genuinely invested in your journey- bringing openness, candor, a touch of humor, and a willingness to challenge you when it can help you grow. While my highest priority will always be to protect the sacred space we create together, I'm also all about embracing the messiness of life. So, whether it’s shedding tears, or holding space for you to vent and let it all out (with, or without a few "choice" words)- I welcome it all. I'm committed to honoring your rich and complex history. Tailoring my approach to fit your needs, and always with your comfort and personal life experiences in mind.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If this sound like you, we might be a good fit: You're a millennial woman who appears to have it all together on the outside, but inside, you feel weighed down by self-doubt and uncertainty. Even with your accomplishments, you're still not where you envisioned you’d be by now. A significant life change—maybe a breakup, a marriage, new job, or a move— has highlighted the fact that you've been feeling lost, discontent and unfulfilled for far longer than you'd care to admit. Deep down, you sense it’s time for a change, even if you can’t yet picture exactly what that looks like. You're craving a deeper connection with yourself and insight into your past- and you’re ready to put in the work to let go of what no longer serves you. More than anything, you’re ready to feel free to live life more authentically, and on your own terms. But at the heart of it, you want to know that the person supporting you truly understands what it means to move through life feeling disconnected from your own truth. You want someone who gets it—someone who knows what it’s like to walk in your shoes. I understand, because I’ve been exactly where you are. I’m open about my own journey, because I believe deeply in the healing power of sharing our stories. I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and unsure of your next steps in life. When we work together, you can expect a therapeutic relationship grounded in genuine understanding, empathy, and commitment to your growth. With the goal of helping you feel more centered, balanced, and connected with yourself. If any of this this resonates, I invite you to schedule an intro session today to see how we can best work together. I look forward to connecting with you soon!
