Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session at Greater Alliance Behavioral Health is all about connection, comfort, and understanding. This is your time to share what’s been weighing on you — whether it’s anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, or just feeling “off.” There’s no pressure to have all the answers; you don’t have to prepare anything or say the “right” thing. I’ll guide the conversation with care and curiosity. We'll start by discussing your concerns, your goals for therapy, and a bit about your personal and medical history. I’ll ask questions to better understand how you're feeling, what brought you in, and how I can best support you. You’re welcome to go at your own pace — whether you’re ready to talk or just beginning to open up. We’ll also cover important topics like confidentiality, what therapy will look like moving forward, and any questions you have. By the end of the session, my goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and hopeful — with a clear next step. You're not alone in this, and you're in the right place to begin your healing.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

At Greater Alliance Behavioral Health, I use a range of evidence-based treatment methods tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. Therapy with me is never one-size-fits-all — I draw from several proven approaches to help you gain insight, build resilience, and create lasting change. Some of the methods and tools I use include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Helps you identify and challenge negative thought patterns that influence mood, behavior, and self-esteem. We’ll replace unhelpful thinking with realistic, empowering thoughts. Supportive Talk Therapy: Sometimes, you just need a safe space to talk through life’s challenges and receive nonjudgmental support. This approach allows you to feel heard and understood. Solution-Focused Therapy: We’ll focus on what’s working, build on your strengths, and create realistic, goal-oriented plans to help you move forward. Behavioral Activation: Especially helpful for depression, this technique encourages small, meaningful actions to help rebuild motivation and connection to joy. Psychoeducation: I believe in empowering you with knowledge. I’ll help you understand how your brain, body, and emotions work together — and how to manage symptoms more effectively. Mindfulness and Coping Tools: You'll learn how to stay grounded during stress, reduce emotional reactivity, and manage anxiety in real-time through breathing exercises, thought tracking, and grounding strategies. These tools aren’t just used in session — they’re skills you’ll take with you into everyday life. Together, we’ll build a toolkit that helps you feel more in control, more confident, and more connected.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What sets my work apart at Greater Alliance Behavioral Health is the balance between clinical expertise and real-life connection. I combine evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), supportive talk therapy, and solution-focused strategies with a deeply empathetic, culturally sensitive approach. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all care. Every session is tailored to who you are — your personality, your experiences, and your goals. I meet you where you are emotionally, whether you're overwhelmed with anxiety, navigating depression, processing trauma, or simply needing a space to be seen and understood. What truly stands out is the transformation clients experience. My clients leave sessions with practical tools they can use right away, a deeper understanding of themselves, and a renewed sense of control. They often tell me they feel lighter, more grounded, and hopeful again — sometimes for the first time in a long time. You’re not just another appointment. You’re a person with a story that matters — and I’m here to help you rewrite the parts that no longer serve you.
