Hi, I'm Brittany. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (i.e. therapist, change-agent, supporter, cheerleader, fact-checker, hype-woman, sounding board, ...) who is here for you. I've been a practicing clinician for over 10 years in Tampa, FL with a focus on wellbeing, boundaries, and meeting you where you're at. I have a diverse experience of working in many settings (schools, prisons, residential treatment, telehealth), with different populations (students, parents, first responders, paramedics, military personnel and families, incarcerated individuals and families), and mentoring new therapists pursuing licensure. I'm a believer that everyone can benefit from therapy, in their own time and readiness. I am excited to work with individuals and couples via a telehealth platform for preteens, teens, and adults when it's the best fit for them.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Therapy: Self-exploration, understanding, discovery... I'm here to meet you where you are at. Let's chat about why you're seeking therapy now, what you're looking for in a therapist, and what you hope to happen during this journey. Within your control, what do you want to start, stop, and continue? Think of your first session as a meet-and-greet (You can dive in deep or dip a toe in the surface level water). We'll go over some of your responses to your intake documents, learn about each other to confirm the vibe is just right, and start to make a plan together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Groundedness and self-acceptance/discovery will help to create peace and change. As a therapist, I hope to be that safe person to help you self-explore, challenge, and change (on your timeline and preferences). I've worked with a diverse and awesome group of clients who I truly value, and I hope to help even a little bit in this wild thing called life.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT helps develop & implement skills to assist with understanding your emotions, relationships, and stress responses. It is rooted in mindful practices that build self-awareness and acceptance, without judgement. Riding the wave of emotions and unique, challenging situations (aka life) is a skill, and DBT can help navigate. Whether you are specifically looking for DBT-focused treatment or are open to other approaches, groundedness is a core focus of my work with clients to help drive the changes desired. I have experience with providing DBT to preteens, teens, and adults in individual and group treatment settings.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In its most basic form, CBT focuses on your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how they are all connected. While it may seem "basic," so often we are not even conscious of what these thoughts and feelings are in our lives and how patterns are formed. CBT helps to discover them together in a safe and trusted space when clients are ready. CBT is a very standard modality for kids, teens, and adults in individual, couples, or group counseling.

Couples Counseling

Navigating life's everchanging situations is quite a ride, and everyone has their unique perspectives and approaches to each chapter. Couples experience a myriad of challenges, in addition to individual challenges, and regardless of the reason for seeking support now, you will be met with a nonjudgemental supporter to help break things down and to help build them up.

Gender-affirming therapy

Be you (periodt). I'm here to meet you where you're at. No judgement. Let's do this.

Grief Therapy

Grief is something that often feels like a "taboo" topic, yet EVERYONE will experience it. How human of us to feel, mourn, wish, hurt, heal, and so much more in between and thereafter. In my experience with kids, teens, and adults, grief is a theme that might be at the forefront, or that might be underlying and ripple to other parts of life.
