Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California. I received my Masters's of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California. Throughout my clinical career, I have had the privilege of working with multiple populations from children, adolescents, adults, couples, the Military and their families. I specialize in helping individuals living with anxiety, depression, adjustment changes, trauma, harm reduction and behavioral changes. I firmly believe that everyone has the capacity for healing and personal transformation. My role is to guide and support you as you navigate life's challenges, helping you develop the tools and insights needed to lead a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
We will begin with introductions and answer any questions or concerns you may have about therapy or the process. Then I will inquire about your background, personal history, and the issues that led you to seek therapy. This may involve discussing current challenges, past experiences, and relevant aspects of the your life. I aim to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings. Building rapport is foundational for effective therapy. You will be encouraged to share your primary concerns, emotions, and any specific issues you want to address in therapy. This exploration helps us to understand your unique perspective and tailor our approach accordingly. We will also begin to set initial goals for therapy. These goals provide a roadmap for the therapeutic process and help track progress over time. Overall, the first therapy session is a foundational step in building a therapeutic relationship, fostering open communication, and setting the stage for meaningful personal growth and exploration.
I believe that understanding and compassion are essential for healing and personal growth, especially when dealing with anxiety, depression, and trauma. While you already know my specialties, my strength lies in my extensive experience within these areas. I have worked with individuals facing anxiety and depression, navigated the unique challenges of military life, and helped clients heal from trauma and navigate complex relationship dynamics. I approach therapy holistically, recognizing that mental health is interconnected with various aspects of life. This means I not only address the symptoms but also explore the root causes and incorporate strategies for overall well-being. I've dedicated myself to these areas because I'm passionate about helping individuals overcome these challenges and lead more fulfilling lives.
I love working with all types of people and have experience working with all age ranges. I feel if you are here, then you are ready to see some change in your life and just need help with the tools to get where you want to be.
Cognitive behavioral therapy is a staple used through out my practice but is tailored to the individual depending on the need if the individual.
I have received onboarding and certificate training in DBT and worked in a DBT full practice.
I use mindfulness based therapy in all of my sessions and mindfulness is heavily used through out DBT as well.
I use solution focused therapy for those that are dealing with the here and now and need assistance managing with their current circumstances
