Hi there! I’m Vivian, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California. I’m really glad you're here. It takes courage to seek change, and I’m here to support you in navigating this process. Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially with all the societal and cultural expectations around us. Together, we’ll navigate those feelings and work towards a clearer understanding of what you value. My approach is all about collaboration and respect for your unique story. We’ll find ways to address the challenges you face while embracing who you are. Whether you’re feeling stuck or just looking for growth, I’m here to support you every step of the way. I look forward to working with you!
In our first session together, we'll start with getting to know each other and identifying your motivating factors for initiating therapy. This will help us come up with a plan to lead us to your goals.
I understand that anxiety, depression, and trauma can heavily influence your emotional and mental well-being. I am trauma-informed and prioritize creating a compassionate, non-judgmental environment where you can feel heard, supported, and empowered to work through these challenges. Whether you’re struggling with overwhelming emotions, feeling stuck, or working through past trauma, I’m here to help you regain control and confidence. My genuine curiosity helps me connect with people from all backgrounds, and I provide direct, honest feedback to help you achieve your goals.
I specialize in supporting individuals going through life transitions, whether it’s a career change, relationship shift, or other major life event. I offer a safe space to navigate these changes and help you develop the tools you need to adjust and thrive. In addition to supporting those undergoing transitions, I also work with individuals who may face challenges with social skills, including those on the Autism spectrum. Together, we can focus on building communication strategies, emotional regulation, and fostering meaningful connections.
We are constantly navigating all types of relationships and interactions in our daily lives. I will support you in recognizing how these relationships influence your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By examining the dynamics of your interactions—whether with family, friends, colleagues, or even within yourself—we can uncover patterns that may be affecting your mental well-being.
If you’re feeling helpless and asking, "what's the Point?" I’m here to help. Through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we’ll focus on acknowledging and accepting your thoughts and feelings rather than avoiding them. By openly exploring these emotions, we can better understand them and identify actions that align with your core values. Together, we’ll create a path toward a more meaningful life, even amidst uncertainty.
As a first generation Asian American woman, I understand the complexities of navigating two cultures and the impact this can have on mental health. My background allows me to appreciate the traditions and values that shape our identities. In our sessions, I’ll create a safe space for you to share your experiences related to cultural expectations, family dynamics, or personal identity. Together, we’ll explore how your cultural background informs your journey, and I’ll tailor my approach to align with your values. My goal is to empower you to embrace your identity while fostering healing and growth.
