In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first therapy session, my primary goal is to begin building a trusting, supportive relationship. I take time to get to know you—not just the challenges bringing you to therapy, but also your strengths, values, and what matters most to you. We’ll talk about what’s been going on in your life, explore what you’re hoping to get out of therapy, and work together to set clear, meaningful treatment goals. This session is a collaborative space where you can feel heard and understood, and where we can begin to lay the foundation for growth, healing, and lasting change.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My therapeutic strengths lie in creating a trauma-informed space that is both safe and empowering. I integrate humor thoughtfully into sessions, helping clients find moments of lightness even in difficult work. My approach is deeply rooted in existential principles—supporting clients in exploring meaning, identity, and personal responsibility—while always remaining client-driven. I believe that each individual is the expert on their own experience, and I work collaboratively to honor that insight, tailoring our work to align with your goals, values, and pace.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Amanda’s ideal clients include teens, adults and families navigating challenging phases of life, interpersonal conflict, and emotional overwhelm. She is especially passionate about supporting individuals working through trauma, mood-related disorders, and the complexities of identity development and family dynamics. Amanda creates a safe, affirming space for clients to explore their experiences, build healthier relationships, and develop effective coping strategies.
