I am a Bay Area native who earned my Master's degree from the University of San Francisco. I have been in practice for 4 years and am looking forward to working with you. If you feel like you are ready to take charge of your happiness and peace of mind and are motivated to make a change in your life then I am ready to help you achieve your goals. I truly believe we all have the inner strength to work through life’s ups and downs, to problem solve and incorporate change and achieve a more fulfilled life. I create a judgement free space where you can be and cultivate your most authentic self. Therapy is hard but rewarding work that allows us to heal, learn and transform our lives for the better. I am passionate about the work that I do and enjoy working with clients toward making change, decreasing stress, cultivating a deeper understanding of oneself and strengthening and improving relationships. I truly look forward to each day that I get to work with people to help them improve and learn about themselves.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is an intake where we determine what brought you to therapy, previous experiences in therapy and to see if we are a good fit ( Do you like my style of therapy? Can you see us working together in the long run?) We will also discuss your goals and what you hope to get out of our time together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I truly believe that therapy is collaborative and that you are driving the car and I am your co-pilot. I’m not here to tell you what to do but to give you coping skills, help change maladaptive thinking, be a listening ear and give you the tools to overcome the stressors and difficulties of life. I like tangible things so I will give you concrete tools and activities that can be helpful when symptoms are impacting our quality of life.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I enjoy using EMDR to treat client's struggling with trauma, PTSD, grief & bereavement, phobias, and anxiety disorders. EMDR can help alleviate and/or decrease symptoms such as hyper vigilance, fear, nightmares, worrying and tension in the body. It can be more effective than talk therapy because you don’t have to get into the details of the stressor and still process it.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is helpful in overcoming persistent negative thoughts and effectively managing symptoms. CBT helps develop practical skills and coping strategies to effectively manage emotions and improve your overall well-being. When we can identify how our thoughts influence our emotions we can change those negative thoughts to more helpful ones.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is important because as humans we are curious beings and when we understand why we did something or where it comes from there is relief and understanding.
