Hi, I’m Dr. Adrianne Weaver, a licensed clinical social worker and trauma-informed therapist. I work with adults, adolescents, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, and life transitions, using approaches such as CBT, EMDR, ACT, and TF-CBT. My style is collaborative, culturally responsive, and strengths-based, and I strive to create a safe, affirming space where clients can heal, build insight, and move toward the life they want.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session, you can expect a welcoming, supportive conversation focused on getting to know you and what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current concerns, relevant history, strengths, and goals, while moving at a pace that feels comfortable and respectful to you. I’ll also explain how therapy works, answer any questions you have, and begin collaborating with you on a plan for care so you leave feeling heard, informed, and clear about next steps.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my therapeutic approach is that it is both trauma-informed and deeply individualized. I integrate evidence-based methods like CBT, EMDR, ACT, and TF-CBT while remaining flexible and responsive to each client’s culture, values, and readiness for change. Clients often share that they feel genuinely seen and understood, and that therapy with me helps them move beyond insight alone toward meaningful, lasting shifts in how they relate to themselves, others, and their experiences.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve clients who are ready to better understand themselves, heal from past or ongoing trauma, and break patterns that no longer serve them. I work especially well with adults, adolescents, and families navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, identity exploration, and major life transitions. Many of my clients are thoughtful, self-aware, and motivated for change, but feel stuck emotionally or overwhelmed; together, we focus on building insight, resilience, and practical tools to support lasting growth in a culturally responsive, trauma-informed way.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have extensive experience using CBT to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and behavioral difficulties. In my practice, I use CBT to support clients in understanding the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while building practical skills such as cognitive restructuring, problem-solving, and behavioral activation. I tailor CBT interventions to be culturally responsive and strengths-based, ensuring they align with the client’s lived experience rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

EMDR

I am EMDR-trained and use this modality to treat trauma, adverse life experiences, and distressing memories that continue to impact present functioning. In my practice, EMDR is used to help clients process unresolved traumatic material in a way that reduces emotional intensity and shifts negative core beliefs. I prioritize thorough preparation, stabilization, and resourcing, and I integrate EMDR within a trauma-informed framework that honors client pacing, safety, and consent. EMDR is especially helpful for clients who feel “stuck” despite insight-oriented work.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help clients increase psychological flexibility by learning to relate differently to difficult thoughts and emotions rather than trying to eliminate them. In practice, this involves mindfulness-based strategies, values clarification, and committed action. I often integrate ACT when clients struggle with avoidance, shame, or rigid self-judgments, supporting them in building lives aligned with their values even in the presence of discomfort. ACT is especially useful for anxiety, depression, identity exploration, and life transitions.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I use TF-CBT primarily with children, adolescents, and families impacted by trauma. My work includes psychoeducation, emotional regulation skills, cognitive processing of trauma-related beliefs, and gradual trauma narration when clinically appropriate. I emphasize caregiver involvement and attachment-informed interventions, while maintaining cultural humility and sensitivity to family systems. TF-CBT allows me to address trauma symptoms while also strengthening coping skills, safety, and resilience across developmental stages.
