Hi! I'm Monica Sanchez and I'm a neurodivergent Latina LCSW based in South Florida. I received my Master's degree in Social Work in 2010 but have been working in the mental health field since 2005. I studied social work due to my passion for not only helping people but also solving the systemic problems that can make life difficult.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is really just a get to know you session. If you've never been to therapy before, we can talk a bit about what you'd like that to entail. If you have been to therapy, I'd like to learn about what you feel went well about that process, and what didn't go so well, so you can feel more comfortable or have a more positive experience this time around.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel my greatest strength is being open and personable, and have gotten this feedback from previous clients. The coolest thing to hear in therapy is that I've helped the client see things in a new way, and have been told I see things outside of the box. I consider that a strength as well!

My treatment methods

Humanistic

I utlize a humanistic approach, meaning that although interventions may be eclectic and stemming from DBT, CBT or ACT etc, the client will always be the expert in sessions. I take a nonauthoritative approach to therapy, preferring to collaborate and problem solve while improving insight and empowerment.
