I am a licensed clinical psychologist, a certified life coach, and a pastoral counselor being an ordained minister. Since every human being consists of a spirit, the ultimate healing takes place when there is an integration of spirituality and psychology in the treatment process, and I am devoted to this type of work. I have worked with innumerous people in North, and South America find the most hopeful, meaningful, and purposeful life over the past two decades of my practice as an ordained minister/pastoral counselor and over a decade as a mental health provider. I also do culturally competent treatment as every situation is different.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session, we go over the informed consent to therapy, then we work on exploring and assessing the many factors affecting the client negatively. This would help to have a good understanding of the client for a case planning.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have a profound experience working with people of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds. I know the cultures (Asian, North American, and South American) and the languages (English, Korean, Spanish, and Portuguese), and I am a good listener. I see each case as a mission sent by God as I really do care for you.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use this model to help people to explorer and identify the maladaptive thoughts and behaviors one has developed from one’s past life challenges for the purpose of reconstructing these maladaptive thoughts and behaviors, which will eventually lead to an effective way to cope with anxiety and depression and other life stressors.

Faith based therapy

Being an ordained minister, for clients who consents to implement faith based therapy, I help the client to regain the spiritual life once one has walked, closer to God. Faith is a gift from God, which helps one become resilient toward various challenges in life as one learns to focus and trust in God, rather than focusing on the life challenges, which only lead to discouragements. "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones (Proverbs 17:22, NIV)".

Psychoeducation

By processing the psychoeducation, the client will have an opportunity to build the resilience needed to cope with the life challenges one faces as this would help the client to get a good understanding of how one process ones life challenges would greatly affects ones mental health, in the hope of reducing the frequency of engaging in the negative reinforcements.

Psychodynamic

I take the client into a journey by helping him/her to explorer one’s self-awareness of how one’s past experiences affect one’s present behavior for the purpose of remediating the unhealthy behaviors.
