If you are feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, anxious or feeling like something is off, you are not alone. You deserve to have support that is genuine, grounded and personalized. Hi. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have over 21 years experience as a nurse. I help those 18 and older challenged with anxiety, stress, depression, grief, life transitions, PTSD, OCD mood disorders, work related stress and trauma thrive while managing changes in relationships, work, and lifestyle through the use of psychiatric medications, psychotherapy, holistic approaches and nutritional supplements. Due to telehealth restrictions on controlled medications such as Adderall, I am unable to prescribe these medications.

I compassionate, genuine and honest. I’ve developed a practical, reliable approach to help you uncover the root causes of your challenges and build a customized plan that leads to meaningful, measurable progress. This grounded process focuses on steady, achievable steps to support your growth and well-being.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I understand how anxiety, stress, depression, grief, life transitions, PTSD, OCD, depression, and trauma can feel overwhelming and isolating. I am here to help you thrive by providing compassionate, expert care that empowers you to navigate relationship, work, lifestyle changes with strength, resilience, and confidence. Together, we’ll create a path toward healing and renewal.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Collaborative approach: Discuss how medications and CBT can work together (e.g., medications reducing anxiety to help the patient engage more fully in CBT work). Monitor progress: Use CBT tools to track mood, anxiety, or behavioral changes alongside medication effects. Address adherence: Apply CBT principles (such as examining beliefs about medication) to improve treatment adherence. Relapse prevention: Use CBT sessions to build long-term coping plans, including recognizing early signs of relapse and having strategies ready. Summary: When combined with psychiatric medications, CBT offers a powerful, holistic approach that addresses both biological and psychological aspects of mental health. Providers can enhance outcomes by integrating CBT skills into medication management sessions, reinforcing the connection between therapeutic techniques and pharmacological support.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing improves patient outcomes by increasing engagement, enhancing motivation, and reducing resistance. Patients who feel heard and understood are more likely to participate actively in treatment, adhere to medication regimens, and follow through on therapeutic recommendations. MI fosters a sense of ownership over change, making it more likely that improvements are sustained over time.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a future-focused, goal-directed therapy that emphasizes finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems. It is based on the belief that clients have the strengths and resources necessary to make positive changes in their lives.

I felt like Dawn listened to my conerns about my mental health issues and genuinely wanted to find solutions that I was comfortable with and were appropriate for my specific needs. I appreciate her feedback and look forward to continuing to work with her on my journey.

Dawn has a warm, and genuine soul with a smile that matches it. She actually listens to what I may have to say, and then helps try to improve the situation instead of just pushing me aside. If something is not working, she will fix it. She makes sure to always let me know that she is available whenever I may need her as well. Dawn is definitely the doctor that I have been needing for a very long time now!

I felt very comfortable with Dawn from the start and I appreciated talking through everything and coming up with a game plan to help relieve what is going on. I felt like I could be open and honest without judgement and I felt heart!
