Thank you for considering me as your counselor. I have over 11 years experience and believe that my overall goal is to help you overcome your current struggle and in a way that you can apply everything we do towards future issues. I have taken the time and effort to learn and become competent in many different techniques as I believe everyone is different and as such benefits from different ways of doing things. I also take the time to understand you and what you need so that I can build around what is already working for you and the strengths you have, giving us the best options to move forward. I have a diverse background and work well with most people and I am thankful for those I have helped and brings me great joy when clients say that they are happy to have found success working with me.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is about getting to know one another and for you to ensure you are confident that I can help you. I will work to get a better understanding of what you are wanting help with and we will build a plan to help you work through it. All this while building a therapeutic relationship focused on ensuring you reach your goals. By the end of the session you should be hopeful and feel like we are headed in the direction you feel will lead to your success.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Clients often say that they look forward to each session, feel like I am able to help them find actionable things to work on and know that they can work through things successfully after sessions with me. I help people recognize their ability to work through any issues. Most people who have struggled in counseling in the past tell me they find success with me and that upon completion of therapy consistently they feel prepared, confident, and ready for a brighter future for the first time in many years.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Over my career spanning more than a decade, I've successfully treated adults, children, and teens using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). This evidence-based approach helps individuals understand how their thoughts influence their emotions and behaviors, empowering them to make positive changes. By tailoring CBT techniques to each person's age and needs, I've been able to effectively address a wide range of anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health issues.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

My experience with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) has significantly helped men, as well as families, children, teens, and couples, lead better lives by providing practical tools to navigate challenges and enhance well-being. Through ACT, individuals learn to accept difficult emotions and thoughts without letting them control their actions. Instead, they focus on committing to values-driven actions that align with their goals and aspirations. This approach fosters resilience, improves relationships, and enhances overall mental health by promoting mindfulness and psychological flexibility. As a result you can experience greater satisfaction and fulfillment in various aspects of their lives, from personal relationships to professional endeavors.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I've been immersed in the transformative world of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for over a decade now. Over the years, I've honed my skills as a practitioner, guiding countless individuals through the intricate process of mastering their emotions, enhancing interpersonal effectiveness, and achieving lasting change. My deep understanding of the theory and extensive experience in applying DBT techniques have empowered me to witness remarkable transformations in the lives of those I've had the privilege to work with.

EMDR

As an EMDR-trained therapist, I specialize in helping people overcome the effects of trauma and distressing experiences. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapeutic approach that I utilize to assist individuals in processing and integrating difficult memories that may be causing them emotional pain or distress. Through my training in EMDR, I have learned to guide clients through a structured process that involves accessing traumatic memories in a safe and controlled manner. I use bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or taps, to help clients reprocess these memories more effectively. This technique aims to activate the brain's natural healing processes, allowing clients to move towards resolution and relief from their symptoms. My role as an EMDR therapist is to create a supportive and compassionate environment where clients feel safe to explore their emotions and experiences. I work collaboratively with clients to identify and target specific memories or issues that are contributing to their distress. By helping clients process these memories and develop healthier coping mechanisms, I empower them to reclaim their lives and achieve greater emotional resilience. Through EMDR therapy, I have witnessed profound transformations in my clients, as they experience a reduction in symptoms such as anxiety, nightmares, and intrusive thoughts. I am passionate about utilizing my EMDR training to help individuals heal from trauma and achieve a sense of empowerment and well-being in their lives.

Christian Counseling

As a Christian counselor, I provide compassionate support and guidance to individuals seeking to navigate life's challenges through a faith-based perspective. By integrating Christian principles with therapeutic techniques, I help clients achieve mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. My goal is to walk alongside you, offering wisdom and hope, as we work together to foster healing, growth, and a deeper connection with God.
