Hi there đź‘‹ My name is Prab, and I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner! I specialize in treating a variety of conditions including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, and sleep disorders, among others. Before transitioning to mental health, I practiced in primary care, with an emphasis in holistic and functional medicine. This background empowers me to integrate a comprehensive view of health and wellness into my practice to support you in achieving both mental and overall well-being.
During our first meeting, we will exchange brief introductions and then focus on understanding your symptoms or concerns that lead you to seek mental health care & your overall desired goals. After completing a comprehensive assessment, I will provide you with a personalized treatment plan that factors in your individuality, symptoms, and desired outcomes. Of note, my focus is on providing care through a patient-centered approach. I don’t set your goals or determine your desired outcomes; instead, we plan them together. You can expect a collaborative environment where your voice is heard and your aspirations are at the forefront of our work.
I use a culturally sensitive evidenced based approach in prescribing medications, complimented by supportive therapy. In our sessions, you will find me to be open-minded and non-judgmental, eager to learn about and understand the diverse experiences that have shaped your life in order to provide the highest quality of personalized care.
By utilizing the principles of empathy, validation, and non-judgmental support, I provide emotional support, encouragement, and validation to empower my patients in managing their stressful situations and symptoms.
Through the power of empathy, autonomy support, and collaboration, I focus on understanding and supporting the patient perspective, fostering a non-judgmental and empathetic environment. This involves active and reflective listening, recognition of discrepancy, and believing in the strength of the human spirit to enact impactful change.
I strive to provide culturally sensitive care by factoring in the importance of cultural and identity issues in shaping an individual's mental health and how one perceives and approaches counseling.
