I am glad you are taking time to get to know me. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have my M.S. in clinical psychology from San Francisco State University and my undergrad in psychology from Purdue University. I have worked in San Francisco for seventeen years with multicultural families and individuals that have been in crisis. I have worked with a multitude of differing diagnosis and problems over this extensive period of time. I take such pride in helping families and individuals live a better life and obtain their desired goals. I am glad to have been around in my job long enough to have observed the positive results my contributions have made. I am passionate in wanting to help alleviate suffering and I stay determined in doing so.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I want you and I to feel very comfortable with each other where you realize you can be open and honest with me. I am a very non-judgmental therapist who really wants to get to know you and help you improve your quality of life. I am compassionate and want you to know I am with you on this journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am warm, compassionate, genuine but will also be honest and direct. I am open and really you to feel safe and open with me. I am nonjudgmental and just want to help you live an easier life. I will stay invested until we figure it out together and I will come up with the best treatment plan that is specific for your goals and your needs.

My treatment methods

Child Parent Psychotherapy

For years I would do psychiatric evaluations in a major city for adolescents and youth that came up in crisis. The crisis situation generally had been evolving over time effecting home life and academics. These situations always required work with the client and the client's family and school to have long lasting success.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

An individual's thoughts shape their perception of the world. This effects their belief system and thus their behavior, attitude and outlook. CBT is a tool I always incorporate with my clients. It is necessary to work with these beliefs for behavioral change to happen.

Collaborative Management and Assessment of Suicidality (CAMS)

For many years I conducted evaluations for a population that was either danger to themselves or others. After the initial assessment I could better formulate a treatment plan to work with this population to have an improved outlook.

Family Therapy

Family therapy is essential in working with an adolescent or youth to sustain positive change and achieve the desired goal of everyone involved.

Psychodynamic

I incorporate this technique as well. A thorough understanding of an individuals past and insight is significant to making positive changes in your life.
