What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together we will discuss the concerns that brought you to therapy and the challenges you are facing. We will talk about what has and has not been helpful for you in the past and identify some of your strengths and weaknesses. You are encouraged to ask any questions you may have about therapy and

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am genuinely dedicated to helping others to reach their goals and improve their lives. I realize that making time for therapy can be difficult at times due to crazy schedules and unpredictable events. I do my best to schedule your sessions when they are most convenient for you and I am very flexible when circumstances make rescheduling necessary. I provide a safe atmosphere without judgement where you can feel comfortable to be yourself and maybe even laugh a bit! I believe humor can promote healing, offering a fresh perspective and renewed optimism. My goal is to be able to provide you with the tools necessary to be able to work on identified issues/goals now as well as any new ones in your future

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I firmly believe in the power of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT) to reshape negative thought patterns, behaviors and core beliefs. The basic premise of CBT is that our thoughts—not external events—affect the way we feel. In other words, it's not the situation you're in that determines how you feel, but your perception of the situation. Unlike many other forms of psychotherapy, CBT is mostly concerned with present feelings and events, not past trauma or life history. That’s not to say those topics won’t come up in therapy, but they’re not the central focus of CBT treatment.

Integrative

I have an integrative approach which means that I combine ideas and techniques from different therapeutic schools of thought such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness practices, etc depending on your unique individual needs. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices and I will work closely with you to develop a personalized treatment plans that utilizes a treatment approach with the highest likelihood of success.
