Whether you're new to therapy or returning after time away, our first meeting is designed to be grounding, respectful, and tailored to your pace. I bring a warm, structured approach that blends clinical expertise with human-centered care. In our first sessions we will cover: Getting to Know You: We'll explore what brings you in—whether it's a specific challenge, a life transition, or a desire for personal growth. Clarifying Goals: Together, we'll identify what you hope to achieve. This might include symptom relief, relationship support, trauma processing, or simply a space to think out loud. Explaining the Process: I’ll walk you through how I work. My integrative style draws from CBT, ACT, mindfulness, clinical hypnosis, Geek Therapy and sex therapy. I’ll also explain confidentiality, boundaries, and what therapy can (and can’t) offer. Setting the Tone: You’ll have space to ask questions, share concerns, and let me know what helps you feel safe and understood. I use metaphors, structured handouts, and evidence-based techniques to make complex ideas accessible. I’m direct but compassionate, and I respect your autonomy every step of the way. If something doesn’t feel right, we’ll adjust together.
Before becoming a therapist, I served as a U.S. Naval Officer, university dean, and federal government employee—experiences that deepened my understanding of leadership, transition, and resilience. With over 20 years of supporting diverse and underserved communities, I strive to create an inclusive, affirming space for all.
