(she/her)
With over 20 yrs experience in the mental health field, I believe it shouldn't be so complicated to live outside of the survival-mode loop. Now more than ever, people have been bombarded with a lot of negative and fear-driving events that only add to their individual life stressors. Let's stop the overflow of stress together. I take a "make it make sense approach" and between laughter and even some tears, I enjoy helping my clients create a new path that may have once seemed impossible. From person to professional thriving, I get exciting seeing you enter uncharted territory that lasts a life-time.
Effective and long-lasting results, specific to each person is my passion. With the use of evidence-based treatment options, e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and trauma informed care, I use a holistic approach (mind-body-spirit) to guide you to dump the mental traffic jam, take back control of your mind, and rebuild new stress/anxiety-reducing habits that last a lifetime. As someone who climbed the ladder in my profession while dealing with life, as if it wasn't affecting me, I know that getting the best results from our time together comes from showing up exactly as you are. No superwoman/man cap, no pretending that everything is ok. But truly show up in ways that you might have never been allowed before, and watch what happens next. It may seem like you'll unravel and not being able to function at home or at work if you open up, but that's not the case.
Over two decades of experience, 11yrs of which were in Veteran mental health care, I'm a firm believer that when you trust the process, it all works out. I have built a practice from personal experience with trauma, a chronic medical condition, and little to no resources to make it work, yet I did. I lean on my faith, being in therapy myself, and attending to all areas of wellbeing. That has been the secret sauce for me, and I'd be honored to help you find exactly what you need to thrive.
Do you struggle with anxiety, depression, new relationships or easily triggered by unresolved trauma that affects your ability to show up at work, amongst friends & family, or every time you try to make a change in your life? Do you feel at a loss of how to get out of an endless cycle of waiting for the weekend, exhausted, and easily frustrated with just about everything distracting you or making you want to hide under the covers? I've been there before myself and know how to help.
