I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 12 years in the field. As a therapist, over the past 10 years, I’ve helped many clients - struggling with issues like depression, anxiety, stress, family concerns, life changes, and existential crises - rediscover themselves, cope in healthier ways, and implement change in their lives. I work with individuals, couples, families, and youth. I also have experience working with individuals with serious mental illness and chronic medical conditions. My approach is a welcoming and supportive one. I see therapy has a collaborative journey. Through exploration with you, I strive to help you find and understand yourself on a deeper level, to become aware of the areas in your life that may be impacting you, and help you better cope with life’s many challenges, in an open, non-judgmental, safe space.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Again, my approach is a collaborative and supportive one. Providing a safe space, where clients can feel heard and empowered, while yet being challenged, is of the utmost importance. Throughout therapy, together we will process challenges, identify goals, and develop insights. The initial 1-3 sessions are typically information and rapport gathering sessions. In these initial sessions I learn about what brings you to therapy, while also learning about you and your life history.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with diverse populations presenting with an array of presenting-issues, and in different settings, over the past 12+ years has equipped me with a skillset that can better tailor treatment to each individual. It has also helped me to appreciate everyone's journey and provide them with the openness and safety they need to feel seen and heard.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Meeting the client where they are in their journey, and providing active listening and clinical feedback in a safe, open and non-judgmental space are at the core of my person-centered approach.

Psychodynamic

I find it greatly important to explore our past experiences, relationships, childhood and upbringing in order to understand all parts of our present self.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I provide education on how our thoughts and behaviors develop, and tools on how to make effective changes when needed.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I believe in the mind-body connection. Mindfulness has been shown to be efficacious and beneficial for the whole self. I provide insight, help develop awareness, and educate on different ways to be present with yourself and the world around you using mindfulness strategies.

Eclectic

Therapy and treatment is not a one-size-fits-all. I come with an eclectic background and approach to therapy. This allows me to better meet each individual where they are, provide them with a well-rounded understanding, and deliver an array of tools to implement in their lives.
