Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Texas. I received my Masters degree from Our Lady of the Lake University and have been practicing social work at the Masters level for the past 7 years. I help adults experiencing difficulties with depression, anxiety, anger, self-esteem, life transitions, aging, grief, and interpersonal challenges to gain a deeper level of awareness within themselves while increasing coping skills and reducing stress.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I will ask questions about your presenting concerns, as well as your history and background. Most likely, you’ll find yourself talking about your current symptoms or struggles, as well saying a bit about your relationships, your interests, your strengths, and your goals. Most importantly, you should feel safe, accepted, respected, and relatively comfortable. This will help me to create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a passionate and experienced social worker with a 12-year track record of providing quality services to clients and families who are experiencing a variety of complex psychological and psychosocial problems I am skilled at implementing evidence based psychotherapeutic modalities in order to enhance quality of life. I am committed to helping clients navigate through difficult situations and ensuring they are capable of identify the root cause of challenges and creating a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with my clients for the past six years. It’s helped a multitude of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and improve their quality of life. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you to increase coping skills and reduce stress.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

I’ve utilized Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) Therapy with my clients in order to reduce intrusive thoughts in clients. It’s helped clients challenge intrusive thoughts and improve their quality of life. We’ll use ERP to recognize how your thoughts and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to expose you to the source of your fear over and over, without acting out any compulsions to neutralize or stop the fear. By repeatedly facing something you’re afraid of, you force your brain to recognize how irrational it is. This will change your thinking patterns, which will help you increase coping skills and reduce anxiety.

Grief Therapy

I’ve been using Grief Therapy with my clients for the past 10 years. Grief Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that aims to help people cope with the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and cognitive responses to loss. It has helped numerous clients to identify strengths, difficulties, stressors, and coping skills that will help them adapt to a significant loss in their life.

Narrative

I’ve been using Narrative therapy with my clients for the past 6 years. Narrative therapy has helped a multitude of clients become more aware of the stories they carry with them through life and how these stories can influence the way you view yourself. It can empower you to take back your narrative and see any problems as distinct from you. We will use Narrative therapy to help you become more self-aware, find your voice, and live in a way that reflects your own values and goals. In addition, it will help you develop your sense of self, resilience, and well-being.

Strength-Based

I’ve been using a strengths based approach with my clients for the past 12 years. This approach has helped clients feel more confident, motivated, and engaged. People are happier when doing things they're good at and working in a way that plays to their strengths can help them work more naturally. A strengths-based will help you to feel more confident, motivated, and engaged. It can also help you to recognize your own value and capitalize on your strengths instead of focusing on weaknesses.
