Hello, I'm Yadira! A bilingual licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 9 years of experience. During my time in the field, I have had the pleasure of working with individuals and families from different cultural backgrounds. I have helped clients struggling with anxiety, depression, addictions, trauma, re-entry, family conflicts and others. I work collaboratively with each client to ensure they have a positive, unique and healing therapeutic experience. I am passionate about providing my clients with the proper tools to achieve a more meaningful and successful life. I know that working on your mental health may sound scary at first, but I am here to tell you, you are not alone! I am here to support you as best as I can every step of the way.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will dedicate time to getting to know each other and work on establishing a foundation of trust. You can expect a warm, welcoming and most importantly, safe environment where you will have the opportunity to freely express yourself and share your concerns, goals, and any challenges you may be facing. This initial session serves as an opportunity for us to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, explore your background, and determine the best approach to address your unique needs. Together we will create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs in order to be able to best support you as you embark on this new journey and regain control of your life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has worked in the field for the past 9 years, I pride myself in saying that my greatest strengths as a provider include empathy, compassion, and understanding. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients where they are comfortable expressing their fears and vulnerabilities. My strong communication skills allow me to actively listen, validate, and provide my clients with guidance during their mental health journey.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with individuals who are willing to "put in the work" and reclaim control over their life. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about challenges they are facing in their life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that I utilize to help clients change negative thoughts and behaviors that may be causing them distress. CBT provides clients with tools to help them challenge unhelpful beliefs, leading to better emotional well-being. CBT is an evidence based therapy and helps clients learn healthier ways of thinking and coping.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-centered therapy, also known as Client-centered therapy, is a non-directive approach to talk therapy that requires the client to actively take the reins during each therapy session. As the client takes the lead, I guide the client through the session and act as a source of support for the client. This form of psychotherapy allows clients to increase personal growth, self-esteem and self-acceptance.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFT) is a therapeutic approach I utilize designed to assist clients in envisioning solutions to their problems, rather than focusing on the issues that are causing them distress. I witness how it helps individuals identify their strengths and abilities ,and utilize them to generate alternative solutions. SFT is based on evidence and encourages clients to find their own solutions to problems they are facing.
