Hello! I'm Alyson Garnet and I provided individual counseling sessions to those that are taking the first step to seeking counseling services. I have experience working with variety of presenting problems and age groups, and I look forward to helping individuals achieve personal growth. If I'm not working, you will most likely catch me at the dog park or with a good book.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The intake session is a time for you to learn more about me as a clinician, and for me to learn more about your needs as my client. During this time, I will gather information from you that will ensure that the treatment you receive is tailored specifically to the presenting concerns that you want addressed.

My style is to be compassionate, honest, and I like to use humor when appropriate. I provide a safe and supportive space for my clients to grow and feel empowered to make positive changes in life. I believe counseling services should be tailored to individual's needs to promote healthy growth.

I work with individuals experiencing low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I work from person-centered, existential, acceptance & commitment, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused approaches.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use this method to assist clients learn more about their self-identity and feel more confident with their decision-making.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use this method to assist clients with learning techniques that help to decrease their negative self-talk and worries.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)
I use this method to treat clients that have the main presenting problem as insomnia.
Compassion Focused
I use this method to build rapport and create a therapeutic atmosphere that clients feel comfortable working in.
