I'm Jennifer Roth, a licensed mental health counselor. As a Nationally Certified Counselor and certified yoga teacher, my diverse background enriches my practice. My professional journey involves extensive work in academic settings. Tailoring my approach to your unique needs and goals, I aim for a holistic approach. Passionate about guiding you through challenges, developing coping strategies, and fostering personal growth, I collaborate with clients on their journey to a more fulfilling life. My approach to therapy is integrative, drawing from various evidence-based modalities with a focus on positive psychology, empowerment, active listening, mindfulness and equipping you with practical tools to navigate life's challenges. I believe in fostering a strengths-based perspective, where we focus not only on addressing difficulties but also on recognizing and building upon your inherent strengths and resilience.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My primary commitment is to create a safe and empathetic space where you can openly explore your thoughts and feelings. I understand that seeking counseling is a courageous step, and I'm dedicated to providing compassionate support throughout your journey. The first counseling session is an opportunity for you to begin the process of self-exploration and healing in a supportive and collaborative environment. Your needs and concerns are the primary focus. I believe in the power of collaboration, viewing our therapeutic relationship as a partnership in your healing process, thus together, we will clarify your goals and identify what you hope to achieve, enabling you to embark on a journey of personal growth and positive change.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths as a counselor stem from practicing for over 20 years, but also lie in my ability to empathize, listen attentively, offer valuable insights, and adapt my approach to meet the unique needs of each client. I find that a sense of humor, mindfulness and creativity are essential in tailoring my approach. By providing a safe, supportive and collaborative therapeutic environment, I empower clients to explore their concerns, cultivate self-awareness, and work towards positive change.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

eclectic therapy offers a flexible and adaptive approach to treatment that can be tailored to meet the diverse needs of clients. By drawing from multiple theoretical perspectives and techniques, therapists can provide comprehensive and personalized care that maximizes the chances of therapeutic success. To tailor treatment to the individual needs of my clients, I find that eclectic therapy is an approach that facilitates that goal best. This method recognizes that no single therapeutic approach is universally effective for every client, and instead emphasizes flexibility and customization in treatment. It allows us to cooperatively integrate techniques and strategies from different therapeutic modalities that best serve the unique circumstances, preferences, and goals.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based therapy is a powerful tool for promoting self-awareness, emotional regulation, and overall well-being. This method is very effective, however, it's important to tailor the approach to each individual client's needs and preferences, and to ensure that they are comfortable and receptive to mindfulness practices.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe my role as your counselor is to provide a nonjudgmental environment conducive to honest self-exploration, your preferences and your chosen needs. An environment that is safe and supportive where your values are at the center of care. Person-centered therapy lends itself to this goal as it operates on the humanistic belief that the client is inherently driven toward and has the capacity for growth and self-actualization.
