Hi! I'm Kayla Sease, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of North Carolina. I received my BSW at UNC-Pembroke in 2014 and my MSW in 2015 from the advanced standing program at UNC-Pembroke. I have 8 years of experience in composing the minds of individuals of all ages. I have experience working in various Social Work settings. However, I am passionate about helping young adult women navigate the unique challenges that come with ADHD, especially during the whirlwind years of college life. Balancing academic pressure, social demands, and personal growth can be overwhelming, and ADHD often adds an extra layer of difficulty. But I believe that with the right tools and support, you can not only manage your ADHD but also embrace your unique strengths. My approach is rooted in helping you find composure—a sense of calm and control in the midst of life's chaos. Together, we'll work on strategies to improve focus, manage stress, and develop the self-compassion you need to thrive. Whether it's tackling procrastination, organizing your academic life, or finding ways to stay grounded, I’m here to guide you through it with practical tools and a compassionate, non-judgmental space. If you’ve been struggling with ADHD in college, feeling overwhelmed or disconnected, know that you are not alone. My goal is to help you feel confident, balanced, and equipped to face the challenges of both school and life with clarity and composure. Let’s work together to build the resilience and self-awareness you need to succeed—on your terms.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session we will get to know each other and will establish a foundation for our safe space. As your therapist I will ask questions to gather your background information, and will learn your therapy expectations. Our space is judgement free, trustworthy, and relaxed! We will use this time to get to know each other and to determine the best way that I can assist you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths is my ability to affirm my clients and help them to identify the potential and strengths that is within them. A few more strengths that I have includes ensuring that my clients feel seen, heard, and validated during therapy sessions. I have a positive way of ensuring that my clients feel comfortable during their therapy sessions with me.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My ideal clients are young adult women ages 18 to 25 in college that are struggling with anxiety, ADHD, and depression which are connected diagnosis. I am passionate about empowering these young women and providing the support that they need. I believe that composure and balance is possible in neurodivergent minds with determination and guidance! I enjoy working with young adult women that are excited and motivated to engage in the therapeutic process and make positive transformations in their lives.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use this treatment method to empower clients struggling with anxiety to acknowledge their unhelpful thoughts and emotions and how to not become entangled in these thoughts and emotions. I educate clients on the different ACT strategies that will help them to do this effectively. My goal is to guide my clients on effective ways to reach mental clarity, organize, and harmonize their unhelpful thinking patterns.

Faith based therapy

I am a Christian therapist that believes that Jesus and therapy goes together. I am interested in educating clients about different prayer strategies that they can use as a coping skill to improve their mental health. I am also open to using faith based principles to improve unhelpful thought patterns if my client is open to this or requests this type of intervention.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-Based Therapy can help clients to develop a greater sense of awareness and inner peace. I provide guidance and support to help my clients learn mindfulness techniques, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve emotional regulation.

Strength-Based

I help my clients to identify their strengths during sessions to empower them to use their strengths and positive resources to reach their desired goals, improve certain situations in their lives, and overall mental health.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT to help ADHD clients to reframe their negative thinking patterns to more positive thinking to increase their self compassion.
