Mental health is not one glove fits all. We each have our unique backgrounds, stories, lifestyles, struggles, beliefs, and sources of joy. It is my mission to offer you a safe space where you can truly express and be seen as your whole self; and not just as a diagnosis. Your voice and your goals matter. I practice in a holistic manner using medications, behavioral techniques, therapy, nutrition, education, and other integrative interventions to promote long-term wellness. Together, we can navigate through depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, life transitions, current stressors and more. ----- My upbringing amidst community violence; in addition to my experience with inner-city social equity work, national poetry competitions, global travel, and overseas medical missions; motivates me to practice in the forward-thinking field of psychiatry where we must understand that wellness is directly impacted by our cultural upbringing, environmental influence, attachment styles, relationships, exposure to trauma, and the broadened umbrella of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). Hobbies and interests I enjoy in my own life include yoga, HIIT, Muay Thai, powerlifting, rock climbing, backpacking, surfing, snowboarding, cycling, dance, curating music, anime, travel, and spending time with my community.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Session 1 is about getting to know you. This includes your mental health history, relevant medical information, social background, and current concerns. We will talk about goals and work on a psychiatric treatment plan together. This can include medications, therapy, lab work, self-help reading recommendations, vitamins, nutrition, physical activity, and/or more.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Therapy, life coaching, and medication management. More specifically -- I use up-to-date psychopharmacology, diagnostic screening tools, cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, mindfulness meditation, anxiety management techniques, nutrition, book/podcast recommendations, physical activity, lifestyle changes, sleep improvement techniques, career and academic coaching, habit building for attention deficit, communication practice, and education on healing trauma. I hold strong expertise in complex and high-risk psychiatric medication regimens. When I prescribe medications, I take the time to educate on how certain neurotransmitters and hormones work in the body. My policy is to help you move toward long-term wellness. *** At this time I do not prescribe controlled medications through Grow; including stimulants (Adderall, Ritalin, modafinil) and benzodiazepines (Xanax, clonazepam, lorazepam, diazepam, Ambien)

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I've often been asked, "Who heals the healers?" So I created a safe space for high-functioning individuals who dedicate their energy to helping others. This includes those in the field of nursing, medicine, psychology, BIPOC and LGBTQ diversity & inclusion, community activism, and academics. I have also helped people in law, social work, tech, music, art, business, non-profit, and more. My personal life experiences and resilience fuels my endless passion for helping others navigate depression, anxiety, trauma, and bipolar. If you are looking for a compassionate mental health advocate and Ivy League-trained expert on psychiatric treatments who will take the time to sit down and connect with you and your goals — I would love to talk and see how I can help.
