Change can be difficult but also rewarding. During our time together, it is my promise to work just as hard as you - while meeting you where you’re at. I offer a “down to earth” clinical style that provides a safe, supportive and genuine space for you to be your truest self, without the fear of judgment. Whatever the concern, know that I am on your side. As an LPC in the state of PA I have had the opportunity to work with children and adults among a variety of settings over the last 7-8 years, strengthening my skill set to meet your needs. Are you ready to take the next step, because I am!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The intake therapy session is the first step in your journey towards healing. Our first session will more specifically the following elements: 1. Introduction: This will include an introduction of myself, my experience and my therapeutic approach, while explaining the purpose of the intake session. Use this as your opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the therapy process. 2. Background information: During this phase, I will gather relevant background information about you, including your personal history, family background, mental health history, and current concerns. This allows me to better understand you and tailor my approach to meet your specific needs. 3. Current symptoms and concerns: This is where you will have the opportunity to discuss your current symptoms and concerns, including any mental health issues you may be experiencing. It is my opportunity to gain insight into your current struggles and assess readiness for therapy. 4. Treatment goals: We will work together to establish treatment goals for therapy. These goals will be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) to provide a clear direction for therapy sessions. 5. Treatment plan: Based on the you goals and concerns, I will create a treatment plan outlining the steps and strategies that will be used to address the identified goals. This plan may include various therapeutic techniques, homework assignments, and other interventions tailored to your needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe therapy is a space one needs to feel comfortable in, therefore it is my mission to provide that to you. I am here to have real, stress-free conversations, acting as a soundboard and listening to you and your needs. I am here to provide education, support and guidance in an empathic, confidential manner.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected and influence each other. By identifying and challenging unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes, individuals can learn to reframe their thinking in a more positive and realistic way. This, in turn, can lead to changes in behavior and emotional well-being. One of the key benefits of CBT is its focus on practical, problem-solving strategies that can be applied in everyday life. Therapists work collaboratively with clients to set specific goals, develop coping skills, and practice new ways of thinking and behaving.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based therapy is a form of psychological therapy that incorporates the practice of mindfulness, which involves paying attention to the present moment in a nonjudgmental way. One of the key principles of mindfulness-based therapy is to help individuals become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and sensations in the present moment. By doing so, individuals can learn to better manage stress, anxiety, and other negative emotions. This increased awareness can also help individuals gain a better understanding of their patterns of thinking and behavior, leading to positive changes in their overall well-being.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT helps individuals learn new skills to manage overwhelming emotions, improve relationships, and cope with stress in a healthy way. The therapy is rooted in the dialectical philosophy of balancing acceptance and change, where individuals learn to accept themselves as they are while also working towards making positive changes in their lives. One of the key components of DBT is skills training, where individuals learn four sets of skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Mindfulness helps individuals stay present in the moment and manage difficult emotions, distress tolerance teaches strategies for coping with crises without making things worse, emotion regulation focuses on identifying and managing emotions effectively, and interpersonal effectiveness helps individuals communicate and assert their needs in relationships.
