My name is Erick, and I’m a person-centered therapist who works with adolescents and adults. I utilize a personalized, strengths-based approach, tailoring sessions to your unique needs and helping you meet your specific goals. I have training in trauma-informed care and evidence-based treatment modalities. I strive to provide a non-judgmental, honest, and accepting space that respects your personal values. I take a collaborative approach and welcome your feedback on my style and techniques, so we can shape therapy in a way that works best for you. My goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered as you process life’s challenges and work toward personal growth.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is really about creating a space where you can feel safe, heard, and genuinely welcomed. We’ll spend time getting to know each other, what brought you in, what you’ve been navigating, and what you hope to get out of therapy. You’re encouraged to share at your own pace, and there’s always room for your questions, curiosities, or concerns. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling understood, supported, and with a clearer picture of how we can work together to move toward the changes you want in your life.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I offer a warm, collaborative, and personalized approach to therapy. I create a space where you can comfortably explore the emotions and experiences that may be weighing on you and develop practical coping skills along the way. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, healthy relationships, and communication skills.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you have even a small desire for change, we can work together to explore your goals and figure out a path that feels right for you. For adolescents, family collaboration can be included with your consent to help transfer skills learned in therapy, while still respecting your privacy and autonomy. For adults looking for clarity, emotional balance, or support processing life’s challenges, I offer a warm, grounded, and collaborative approach. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, so you can feel supported, understood, and empowered along the way. I’m currently not providing services to residents in Riverside County.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have extensive experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a foundation in my work. In my practice, I use CBT to help individuals recognize unhelpful thought patterns, understand how these thoughts influence their emotions and behaviors, and learn practical strategies to create meaningful change. My goal is to empower individuals with tools they can use both in and outside of sessions to build resilience and improve their overall well-being.

Psychoeducation

I use psychoeducation to help individuals better understand their emotions, symptoms, and the underlying factors influencing their experiences. By providing clear, accessible information, I empower individuals to make sense of what they’re going through and to become active participants in their own healing.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have two years of experience using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to support adolescents, and their families in safely processing traumatic experiences. In my practice, I combine psychoeducation, coping skills training, gradual exposure, and caregiver involvement to help reduce trauma-related symptoms and build resilience. I tailor TF-CBT to each client’s developmental level and comfort, ensuring they feel supported, empowered, and in control throughout the healing process.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is used to help people explore their personal motivations and strengthen their commitment to positive change. In my practice, I use MI’s collaborative, nonjudgmental approach to support clients in identifying their goals, resolving ambivalence, and building confidence in their ability to make meaningful progress. By tailoring conversations to each client’s readiness for change, I create a supportive space that empowers them to take the next steps toward their wellbeing.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I incorporate mindfulness-based therapy to help clients develop greater awareness, emotional balance, and connection to the present moment. I’ve used mindfulness strategies such as grounding exercises, breath work, and guided reflection to support children, adolescents, and families in managing stress, reducing anxiety, and improving overall regulation. My approach emphasizes practicing these skills in simple, accessible ways so clients can carry them into daily life and strengthen their ability to navigate difficult emotions with clarity and calm.
