Hi, my name is Sandy. I am an LCSW, licensed in the state of Florida. I have been working as a clinical social worker for 39 years. I enjoy working with individuals who are invested in themselves and are seeking to improve their lifestyles and their mental health. I was a clinical manager for an intensive outpatient program that worked with everyone within the community, but focusing on military, first responders, and hospital employees. My last role was as a psychiatric inpatient social worker working with adolescents and adults. I currently am working for the same facility in a different capacity, supervising their clinicians and completing chart reviews.
During our first session together will start out by introducing ourselves and then discussing specific areas that you would like to focus on, any challenges that you might be dealing with currently. Together will work on formulating a plan of action/treatment plan to utilize going forward in treatment.
I enjoy asking questions and learning about you, I find that I am very good at listening without judgment and asking probing questions to better understand where you’re coming from and what you’d like to see happen in our sessions. I am an excellent. I am empathetic and supportive while still encouraging to do the work and to dig deep in order to get through the healing process.
I enjoy working with those individuals who are engaged in working with our mental health population, those who have a history of either inpatient hospitalizations or mental health diagnoses who truly desire to improve their overall health and well-being. I do strongly promote the concept of mind, body and soul healing.
I enjoy utilizing psychoeducation to help my clients better understand the whys and the ways of treatment as well as their inner workings.
my clients will know that I understand where they’re coming from and we’ll work with the “what has happened to the client, versus “what is wrong with the client”.
Together, my clients and I will uncover and utilize their strengths to grow and move forward positively.
my clients and I will work towards a healthier mind, body and soul utilizing this form of therapy. Understanding and working with diverse aspects of our identities race ethnicities genders, and socioeconomic backgrounds is integral to adapting treatment and being respectful of their cultural influences.
I enjoy teaching my clients, the benefits of utilizing mindfulness therapy, engaging their mind, body and soul into improving their mental health and their personal outlook on life.
