Hi there, my name is Corey. Whether you or someone you know is seeking medical support for anxiety, depression, bipolar, OCD, sleep issues, trauma, or PTSD, I am here and happy to help. Before obtaining my psychiatric nurse practitioner degree from Northern Kentucky University, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Ohio University. For 6 years, I worked as a registered nurse at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, caring for patients with complex medical and behavioral disorders. Additionally, I have clinical and didactic experience in community mental health, integrative medicine, and psychotherapy. I am currently accepting clients for evaluation, medication management, and holistic psychotherapy across a broad spectrum of mental health conditions. For those preferring to pay out-of-pocket, my fee is $250 for a 60 min initial psychiatric evaluation and $150 for 30-minute follow-up sessions. For ADHD management, a detailed assessment by a licensed psychologist is necessary prior to treatment. Please ensure to bring documentation of your diagnosis and any pertinent test results to our appointment. Additionally, you must have proof of an in-person physical or wellness check conducted within the past year before our first meeting. For more details, visit www.lozierhealth.com

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

First and foremost, I will dedicate extensive time getting to know you as an individual—your unique history, lifestyle, and the symptoms you're currently experiencing. Then, we will go back to your early childhood and work our way up to your present history, bringing context to how you're wired. In essence, we won't simply ignore the "Check Engine" light; instead, we will lift the hood and thoroughly examine what's going on. With this comprehensive understanding, we can personalize a treatment plan that's best for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have the ability to make people I just met feel like we've been lifelong friends. I balance my sincerity and professional demeanor with a sense of humor and wit. I deeply care about helping people live happy and meaningful lives, and I understand that means different things to different people. I will work alongside you, cheer you on, research on your behalf, and keep at it until we've met your goals.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-Informed Care is a treatment method that prioritizes a safe and supportive environment for individuals who have experienced trauma. I approach therapy with empathy, sensitivity, and a deep understanding of the impact of trauma on physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Through personalized treatment plans, psychoeducation, and empowering clients to make their own choices, I help clients build resilience, and develop coping skills, and ultimately heal.

Narrative

In my practice, I utilize narrative therapy by engaging clients in conversations that explore the dominant narratives that shape their lives. I actively listen and ask questions to help clients identify alternative narratives, exceptions, and strengths that challenge their problem-saturated stories. Together, we work towards co-creating new narratives that empower clients, promote resilience, and support their desired goals and values.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) by helping clients identify and challenge cognitive distortions and unhelpful beliefs that contribute to their difficulties. I work collaboratively with clients to develop more balanced and realistic thoughts, promoting healthier coping strategies and adaptive behaviors. Through targeted interventions and homework assignments, clients learn to apply these new skills in their daily lives and develop a greater sense of control over their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

Relational

In my practice, I utilize relational therapy by placing a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship as a catalyst for healing and change. I actively engage with clients to build a trusting and collaborative alliance, fostering a safe space for exploration and growth. By exploring the patterns, emotions, and dynamics within the therapeutic relationship, I help clients gain insights into their relational patterns outside of therapy and support them in developing healthier ways of relating and connecting with others.

Psychoeducation

In my practice, I employ psychoeducation therapy to educate clients on the intricate connection between physical and mental health. By providing comprehensive information about their conditions, including their physical and psychological reactions, I empower clients to understand the interplay between their mind and body. This knowledge equips them to actively participate in their treatment, make informed decisions, and engage in self-care practices that promote holistic well-being.
