In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we’ll discuss what’s bringing you to therapy and begin identifying the areas you would like to focus on most. I use a blend of honesty, compassion, and a little humor to create a space where you can feel safe, seen, and supported. Through Somatic Experiencing®, you’ll learn how your nervous system responds to stress and trauma and how those responses may be keeping you stuck. Together, we’ll work with your body to release stored trauma, build resilience, and restore balance. Every session offers practical tools and fresh insights that you can apply right away, because I believe healing isn’t just about talking; it’s about understanding how your body and mind work together and learning how to support both.

I specialize in working with high-functioning trauma survivors— people of color who have served in the military, work in high-demand/stress roles and emergency services, who are used to showing up strong, even when they’re hurting inside. If you’re caught in cycles of overthinking, emotional shutdown, anxiety, or strained relationships, it’s not a personal failure; it’s your nervous system doing what it has to do to survive. In our sessions, we’ll use evidence-based tools to help you process trauma, reclaim your energy, and reconnect with yourself; beyond the uniform, the role, or the mask.
