In our first session together, we'll start with brief administrative formalities, introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. Closer to the end of the session I will ask you to give me some goals you wish to accomplish. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
My greatest strength is giving my clients the experience of truly being heard. I am a great listener with voracious curiosity. I sincerely want to know my clients. I want to hear their story.
If you are ready for change talk that will lead to change behavior, together we can begin to get you into a new chapter of a more fulfilling and peaceful life. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness. Numerous research studies suggest that CBT leads to significant improvement in functioning and quality of life. In many studies, CBT has been demonstrated to be as effective as, or more effective than, other forms of psychological therapy or psychiatric medications.
If the client desires and is comfortable with discussing how their faith plays a role with how they process thoughts and emotions I am ready and capable to help them in that part of their journey.
There are times were interpersonal conflict exists between generations within a family because a parent or family member migrated to the US raised with different values and norms but is now engaging younger members of that family that are more Americanized. This can often cause conflict. I am able to assist with better navigating those experiences.

Sometimes it only takes a few sessions to get clients on the right path to change and healing when we help them identify strengths, what has worked before and new solutions.
