My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have utilized CBT for many years in both the correctional and community settings. The current events in an individual's life are acknowledged. The focus or goal is to move forward and develop effective ways to cope with their life by changing problematic thinking. An individual learns how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have utilized this form of therapy in both correctional and community settings. It helps an individual regulate intense emotions and harmful behaviors. This form of therapy goes more in depth to the root of a person's problems. A person accepts who they are despite their challenges or difficult experiences.

Psychoeducation

I feel that it's of importance to educate others during therapy sessions of interventions, coping skills and other subjects which will be impactful to the improvement and overall functioning in an individual's life.
