My name is Sam Hunter. I have been working in the field of Mental Health Treatment for the past 6 years. I have been trained in DBT treatment through intensive DBT training for the past 6 years. I love to utilize a combination of skills training and validation to help clients reach their ultimate goals. I had further training 3 years ago and became fully trained in Prolonged Exposure treatment for clients suffering with PTSD. I love to utilize Exposure treatment to help clients work on conquering fears that get in the way of activities of daily living. I have experience with several clients diagnosed with trichotillomania as well utilizing behavioral skills and techniques learned through DBT. Using validation and teaching how to validates oneself are important pieces of the therapeutic relationship to me

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I am pretty easy going. The first session will really be about getting to know one another and setting some goals for therapy. What are the things that are bringing you in for treatment. How can I help you to reach those goals that are important to you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Ensuring follow through on skills. Making sure that my clients feel valued and comfortable. Treating clients as real people.
